Sunrise Project

SUMMARY

M2 Engineering AB has received confirmation from the European Commission for the award of a significant grant in connection with the ongoing project for the development of innovative solar technology. The funding has been approved under the LIFE+ program for the environment. The grant represents the largest amount awarded for a Swedish technical project within this program.

M2’s project, entitled Sunrise, will demonstrate and evaluate the functionality and the effectiveness of a highly innovative solar cell production technology. Expected results include significantly lower production costs, increased energy efficiency and more environmentally friendly end products.

SCHEDULE

The project was started in July of 2009, and is projected to run until the end of 2011.

NEWS

The project is in its initial phase, which includes the set-up and installation of the demonstration facilities. This set-up will take another few months, after which the demonstration activities will start.
