Mr Tom Whitworth, President of Synchronicity Mastering Services comments on the purchase:
“These are exciting times at Synchronicity with the recent installation of a 2nd SQM for CD/DVD and the imminent addition of Blu-ray mastering capability. We are confident that our early entry into Blu-ray and the capability to produce both recordable and pre-recorded stampers will enable us to further strengthen our market position and become a true ‘one-stop’ stamper service for replicators world-wide.
We were one of the first users of the SQM when it was first launched by M2 and the system has served us well for nearly 4 years and we are sure that the SQM-Blu system will enable us to quickly establish our recordable and pre-recorded Blu-ray mastering service. Our choice to again partner with M2 is based on the simplicity and robustness of the SQM Blu-ray mastering technology and the high level of support that we have received from M2 during our long relationship.”
The SQM-Blu is based on the standard SQM platform that has gained a strong reputation in the market with more than 20 systems having already been installed. The mastering process being used is ideally suited to the mastering of both recordable and pre-recorded BDR formats on the same laser beam recorder.
Martin Brown, VP Optical Disc Systems at M2 adds:
“We are very excited at the opportunity to again be chosen as the partner for Synchronicity as they move into Blu-ray mastering. As an early user of the SQM for CD/DVD, Synchronicity played a leading role in helping us to improve the machine that now forms the basis for our Blu-ray mastering solution. We are very confident that the simplicity and cost effectiveness of the SQM-Blu will allow us to gain a strong position as the market for Blu-ray mastering develops over the coming years”
