VDC Group expand capacity with M2 Equipment
[Stockholm, Sweden, October 16th, 2008] M2 Engineering AB is proud to announce the sale of multiple CD and DVD replication lines to UK-based replicator VDC Group.
VDC Group, the UK’s largest independent optical disc manufacturer has recently significantly increased its production capacity following the installation of three SQ20 DVD replication lines and two SQ1 CD lines from M2. The VDC Group facility in Park Royal, London saw the first M2 equipment installed in 2006, following the purchase of the first batch of four SQ1 CD machines. This was quickly followed by the purchase of a number of SQ20 DVD lines that have served VDC well in terms of high productivity and reliability. Mr. Sanjay Mohindra, Joint Managing Director of VDC Group comments:
“We have been extremely impressed with the performance of M2 equipment since we chose the SQ1 CD machines when re-building our business after our old facility was destroyed by fire in 2005. This repeat order to M2 will further forge our relationship with both M2 and the Optical Disc Group, who provide excellent representation of M2 in the UK. The SQ1 CD line was already a well-known entity when we made our first purchase and has not fallen short of our expectations. With the SQ20, we were one of the first customers for this new machine and were extremely satisfied with the way in which M2 quickly reacted to and solved all problems with the early version of the lines that we received. The SQ20 is now a fully mature and proven DVD replication line and we also place a lot of value on the fact that a BD upgrade for the SQ20 is being developed as this will allow us to easily move into BD production in the near future”.
The SQ20 has gained a strong reputation with a large number of other customers also having placed repeat orders for the machine. The SQ-Blu module currently being developed will be an add-on to the existing platform and will allow the production of all DVD formats and BD25 and BD50 within a single line. Andreas Andersson, who leads M2 in Europe, adds to the comments of Mr. Mohindra:
“We are extremely proud that the VDC Group continues to expand their capacity based on M2 equipment. They have high demands with respect to machine performance and quality of the produced discs and so it is even more satisfying that they continue to see M2 and our agent ODG as a reliable partner. VDC Group is typical of the M2 customer base of medium-sized independent replicators and we believe that our BD concept is ideally suited to this important sector of the industry where realistic investment and maximum machine utilization are critical factors for business success. We look forward to continuing our good relationship with the VDC Group and supporting them in their future expansion plans and move into BD production when they are ready for this.”
